A Message from the Chairman
The Chamber of Commerce is frequently looked upon to be an agent of positive change.  And that is how we view ourselves, in our roles on this board and as part of this organization. To that end we are working hard to make positive changes to the economic environment of Chautauqua County and we look internally to make changes within our own organization that enhance the products and services we provide to our members. Our bottom line mission is to improve the business environment in Chautauqua County. And to do this we recognize that we must continuously improve upon the services we provide to you and we must strive to launch initiatives that make a difference and drive positive change in our communities.

As I take the position of Chairman I recognize that we must be forward thinking as an organization and pro-active in how we approach the issues that matter the most.  Such as:

  • Improving the business environment by being your advocate and driving efforts and initiatives that reduce taxes.
  • Striving to contain health insurance costs through innovative approaches.
  • Developing stronger more viable main street businesses through our relationships with our community chambers.
  • Driving economic and workforce initiatives that create jobs and build a stronger workforce for the future.
  • Expanding and improving upon the services we provide to you.

I commit to you that the Chamber will continue to be an agent of change. And there will continue to be one constant – the Chamber will remain a strong, viable organization with a primary focus on providing business building initiatives to the membership.

I look forward to the coming year and to serving as your board chairman.

Hans Auer, Chairman
