Mayville/ChautauquaThe Village of Mayville is situated on the north end of Chautauqua Lake and serves as the Chautauqua County seat, rich in county history.  A natural gateway to the lake, it is one of the fastest-gr owing arts, dining, and entertainment communities on Chautauqua Lake, and is quickly becoming a year-round destination. From the June Bluegrass Festival to the February ICE Festival, this small village by the lake offers many things to see, do, and hear.

The lake is surrounded by rolling hills, rural countryside and woodlands.  Around the lake, there are numerous small villages and communities, including two Amish settlements.
