Chamber Initiatives

Community Chamber Services and Community Development:

  • The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce has six affiliate Chambers in Chautauqua County. This unique model successfully delivers events and business building activities at the local level that support local businesses. This model of communities working together and as part of a whole, strengthens our main streets and the surrounding communities.
  • The County Chamber and Community Chambers work together to support the business community by being a catalyst for growth and development. The Chambers coordinate their activities as commmunities of Chautauqua County toward a common purpose of sustainability and economic growth.

Industrial Services:

  • Through a strong partnership of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier, the Manufacturing Technology Institute and Jamestown Community College the Chamber offers services to promote manufacturing excellence and innovation in a global economy.
  • Core to the success of manufacturing in the region is a skilled and abundant workforce. Therefore a key initiative is to drive enrollment growth in advanced manufacturing training programs. To that end Dream It Do It, an initiative to promote careers in advanced manufacturing has been launched. In partnership with the National Association of Manufacturers Chautauqua County is the 17th region in the United States to become part of the Dream It Do It recruitment initiative and the first County in New York State to launch the program. Manufacturing skills development is critical to the success of our local industries.

Member Services:

  • The Chamber is constantly delivering and expanding the services that are members value including tools to increase profits, connections to new customers, information and events. Through member input the Chamber identifies the services and programs that our members value.

Public Policy:

  • The Chamber provides you representation where it matters, advocating for an improved business climate, reforming government regulations and supporting economic development initiatives. A core focus of the Chamber's public policy efforts is to lower taxes and the overall costs of doing business in Chautauqua County. 
  • The Chamber has engaged public school system in an effort to formulate a bold plan of change to the educational system in Chautauqua County to deliver high quality education for our children, efficiently and cost effectively.

Health Insurance Cost Containment:

  • The Chamber of Commerce is Identifying and implementing new and innovative health insurance options for our members. The Chamber has re-invented it health insurance offerings through a strategic alliance with Liazon Benefits Inc. and Univera to now offer Bright Choices, a cost competitive, consumer centric health insurance program.
  • The Chamber's strategy to offer cost effective health insurance goes beyond offering insurance products and is focused on developing a new model in Chautauqua County that would allow for long term health insurance cost containment.

Economic, Workforce and Tourism Development:

  • Spurring and supporting economic and workforce development efforts. The Chamber is supporting various economic development efforts in Chautauqua County that improve the business environment. Specific initiatives include support of projects to address the long term water needs of businesses in the Dunkirk, Fredonia area and the electrical power needs of consumers in the Jamestown area.
  • The Chamber is working in partnership with the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau to cultivate Chautauqua County as the “World’s Learning Center” and as a major tourist destination.
