The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce recently named Hans Auer, Chairman at its annual meeting. During his comments at the event, Auer said the Chamber’s role is to be an “agent of positive change with a primary focus on initiatives that create an improved business environment and developing services that provide value to our membership.”

Auer outlined the Chamber’s issues of greatest priority including, “improving the business environment by being an advocate for its members and driving efforts and initiatives to reduce taxes”.  Auer stated that the chamber is, “striving to contain health insurance costs through innovative approaches, developing stronger more viable main street businesses through our relationships with our community chambers, driving economic and workforce initiatives that create jobs and build a stronger workforce for the future.” He also said that, ‘the Chamber is continually striving to expand and improve upon the services it provides to its members.”

Auer is the Vice President of Investments for Chautauqua Lake Advisors, UBS Financial Services, Inc. He begins a two year term as Chairman of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce.

Officers elected to the board of directors include Doug Mahany, Past Chairman, WL Putnam Agency, Mark Maytum, Vice-Chairman, DFT Communications, Gregory DeCinque, Secretary, Jamestown Community College, and Ellen Luczkowiak, Treasurer, HSBC Bank. Also serving on the board are Ann Abdella, of the Chautauqua County Health Network, William G. Loomis, III, BCI Northeast, John D’Agostino, the OBSERVER and Paul Zebraski, The Carriage House.

Appointed representatives from the Community Chambers include Stephanie Pulvino, Lake Shore Savings Bank, Dunkirk; Greg Krauza, Key Bank, Fredonia; Ken Shearer, Chautauqua Marina, Mayville; Joni Blackman, Fenton History Center, Jamestown; Sue Briggs, Destination Plus, Silver Creek/Irving and Anthony Pisicoli, Sapore Restaurant, Westfield and Barcelona.
